Prep School

A warm welcome to Term 2. I trust you had the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful Queensland weather and took the chance to recharge the batteries in readiness for another busy term.

Next week we will host our parent-teacher interviews. This provides an opportunity to meet with your son’s teacher and discuss his academic and pastoral development along with goals for the coming term and the year ahead. Staff have generously made themselves available over two nights, and we encourage you to take the opportunity to meet with them to discuss your son’s progress.

Anzac Day

Anzac Day will take place next week on Thursday 25 April. The School conducts a special Anzac Day Service on The Flat each year, and this is a compulsory event for our Years 4 to 6 boys. This is a special day in the Churchie calendar and with our close ties to the Tri-Service Cadets programme and the history of Churchie Old Boys serving our country. A roll will be taken on the day. Further details will follow.

Value of the week: honour

Honour is living by the virtues of showing great respect for yourself, other people, and the rules by which you live. When you are honourable, you keep your word. You do the right thing regardless of what others are doing. Honour is a path of integrity.

Attribute of the week: communicators

Communicators understand and express ideas and information confidently and creatively in more than one language and a variety of modes of communication. You are willing to work in collaboration with others.

Oaklands – car parking

A reminder that the Oaklands Car Park located off Oaklands Parade is not a facility for Prep parent use. Under the regulations for a childcare facility, there needs to be parking provided for parents for the safe pick up and drop off of children. Please refrain from using this facility for parking.
