From the Deputy Headmaster

Dear boys, parents and staff

As we enter the heart of Term 3, the rhythm of school life is in full swing, marked by academic milestones, cocurricular commitments and important preparations for the future. It’s a time of growth, reflection and connection as we work together to achieve our best.

Communication

myChurchie, our central communications platform, is designed to give you quick access to a wide range of critical information, all in one place. Personalisation options allow you to manage notifications, set up daily digest emails and modify group settings to tailor the flow of information to meet your needs. You can also filter and sync Churchie’s calendar via myEvents with your own personal calendar, so you don’t have to worry about missing important dates or juggling multiple platforms.

For those who haven’t yet downloaded it, the myChurchie app (available via myChurchie) also provides convenient mobile access to the life of the School, ensuring you’re always connected.

If parents would like some help with the functionality of myChurchie, or guidance on how to change their settings to suit their needs, the myChurchie Help resource found via the Parent Services menu may be of assistance.

Learning behaviour ratings

In the Senior School, all teachers have now published their initial Semester 2 Learning Behaviours. Parents and students can find this individual feedback via the Grades feature in myChurchie, under the ‘[LBS2] LB and Goals – Semester 2’ item for each subject. Largely in response to their teachers’ learning behaviour ratings, students are being encouraged to reflect and improve in targeted areas wherever necessary. As always, learning behaviour ratings are subject to change prior to the publication of formal reports, helping to provide more real-time feedback on student engagement and success over time.

Study Hub and examinations

Term 3 examinations have started for our Year 12 IB students and will be underway for many other boys across the School in the coming weeks. We particularly think of our Year 12 boys who are building towards their external QCE and IB examinations in Term 4. Huge gains are still possible from this point, so the upcoming mock examinations are enormously valuable.

A reminder that Study Hub provides all Year 7 to 12 students with complimentary support in all subject areas, led by senior academic leaders, staff and talented Churchie Old Boys. Our schedule is available via the Academic tile in myChurchie.
